MEANING

I wrote and recorded this song very late in the middle of the night on my shitty 2 octave key board. And even though friends of mine have offered to fix (*hem hem - save) it, I could never let them. Because in a way the song has to be raw and unfinished.

This song is not necessarily about me, but rather about all of us and the process of navigating our 20’s. I think we can all connect with feeling like a child in the body of an adult and the overwhelming confusion that comes with that. There’s a lot of talk about my generation being empty and broken but I think that’s just the process of growing up in a world that sometimes feels like it moves too fast.

Lyrics:

She’s cold, bit tired

Waiting for someone to open the door

Late nights, outside

Far away the office lights will always ask for more

Kind of lost, kind of found

Just another 20 something wandering around

Buying shoes, singing blues

Talking to her friends bout how the world is ending soon

CHORUS

Trying to find our meaning

Something that will hold after we’re gone

Weathering the seasons

Hoping that with time wisdom will come

Hollowness, calling friends

No one knows the answers but we’ll get there in the end

Emptiness filled with sex

This ones not the answer but there’s always one more bed

Kind of lost, kind of found

Just another 20 something wandering around

Cooking food, reading news

Doing all the things that we saw the adults do

CHORUS

Trying to shake the feeling

That there’s glory in the darkness and it’s calling out our names

Cause fame is not an answer

And we all walk the same path anyways

We’re kind of lost, kind of found

Just another 20 something wandering around

Acting cool, feeling fooled

Scared to try the things that we said we want to do

CHORUS
